Plastic Surgery
Facelift
Repositioning the deep SMAS layer, with the skin redraped rather than pulled.
Skin-only lifts are obsolete
Pulling skin alone produces a tight, short-lived result. The current standard suspends the SMAS — the muscular-fascial layer beneath the skin — and lets the skin settle over it without tension.
Timing
The decision is based on the degree of tissue descent, not on age. Operating too early wastes an option; injecting too late produces heaviness rather than lift.
We will tell you plainly which side of that line you are on.
Questions we are asked
How long does it last?
Typically 8 to 12 years. Surgery does not stop ageing; it resets the starting point.
